The Animal Law & Policy Program at Harvard Law School is pleased to announce The Animal Welfare Act at Fifty, a conference that will bring experts together to assess the first fifty years of the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) and consider recommendations for the future. The event will include conference presentations as well as a separate academic workshop component.

CALL FOR PAPERS Seven Decades After Nuremberg: Developments in International Criminal Law and International Criminal Justice 2 CONCEPT NOTE At the conclusion of the Second World War, leading statesmen and international law experts entertained different views on what to do with the perpetrators of the atrocities in Europe and the Far East. Deliberations and concessions made resulted in the establishment of the International Military Tribunal, Nuremberg, whose Charter was annexed to the London Agreement of August 8, 1945.
Universidad Icesi, School of Law and Social Sciences invites scholars to submit their academic contributions to the Forum “25 Years of the Colombian Constitution”. The forum will take place in September 2016. Deadline for the submission of abstracts and introductions is March 28, 2016.

“Law between Global and Colonial: Techniques of Empire”, University of Helsinki, (3-5 October 2016) The Conference Law Between Global and Colonial: Techniques of Empire proposes to discuss the legal languages and techniques through which colonial powers ruled non-European territories and populations throughout the modern age. The aim of the Conference is to examine in detail the juridical practices and discourses of colonial powers when they exercised their supremacy over colonial subjects and disciplined them.
