The University of Detroit Mercy Law Review is pleased to announce its annual academic Symposium to be held on March 3, 2017, at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. The Symposium will contemplate how the American Bar Association’s emphasis on outcome measures in its revised Standards for Approval will affect law students’ educational experience. Specific topics may address, but are not limited to, the following issues:
The general topic of the conference is post-conflict justice and the relevant strategies for securing justice in the context of the Ukrainian conflict. The conference will bring together leading international scholars, judges, and lawyers. It will address different aspects and models of post-conflict justice, and help determine key elements of post-conflict justice which would be the most adequate to the circumstances in Ukraine.
All interested scholars and practitioners are invited to submit a paper to the conference on one of the following topics:

The Internal Revenue Service and the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center plan to co-sponsor their seventh annual tax administration research conference in 2017. It will be held on June 21, 2017 at the Urban Institute in Washington, D.C.
Next April, the Pepperdine Law Review will hold its annual symposium on the question of whether the political deadlock over the Merrick Garland nomination provides a stark indication the U.S. Supreme Court has become an unduly political institution, and, if so, what internal and external reforms might address this problem. We invite all interested scholars to submit a relevant proposal to present at the symposium and be considered for publication in a special edition of our law review.
