Call for Papers: Queer Legal Scholarship Works-In-Progress Session at Lavender Law®
The National LGBTQ+ Bar is hosting a Queer Legal Scholarship Works-In-Progress session at this summer’s Lavender Law® Conference and Career Fair, which will be held July 28–30, 2025 in New York, NY at the Midtown Marriott Marquis. The goals of this session are to deepen connections between the legal academy and practitioners, and to create an opportunity to present scholarship for academics who want to attend Lavender Law® but whose funding is contingent on presenting scholarship. As such, we anticipate the audience to be a mix of legal academics and practitioners—a unique opportunity for anyone whose scholarship aims to be more practical.
If you are interested in presenting your scholarship at Lavender Law®, please submit the form below by March 7, 2025. We welcome legal scholarship addressing any issues affecting the queer community. Scholarship can be at any stage of completion at the time of presentation, ranging from early thoughts on a prospective idea to an accepted draft nearing final edits. We anticipate accepting 3–4 presenters, each of whom will speak for about 15–20 minutes, after which we will solicit feedback from the audience.
Priority will be given to prospective and untenured law teachers and anyone whose funding is contingent on presenting scholarship, so please note as much in your submission. We expect selected presenters to be informed of their selection by the end of March. The Session will take place the afternoon of Monday, July 28; exact time TBA in early April.
