CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS:

Legal Obstacles in Addressing Gender-Based Violence

The Widener Commonwealth Law Review invites submissions for its symposium on the legal obstacles in addressing gender-based violence. The articles published as a part of this symposium will appear in the 35th Volume of the Law Review and will be organized around the topic of gender-based violence—including sexual violence, domestic abuse, and human trafficking—and the obstacles in U.S. or international legal systems to prosecuting it, holding the perpetrators of violence criminally or civilly responsible, and ending the violence altogether.

This call for papers opens today with submissions of approximately 500-word abstracts due on Friday, January 24, 2025. Selected proposals will be notified by early February 2025. Final articles will be due by July 5, 2025.

Please direct all submissions and questions to both:

• Professor Mary Kate Kearney, Faculty Advisor to the Law Review, at mkearney@widener.edu

• Jessica Poley, Pennsylvania Law and Symposium Editor, at cwlawrev@widener.edu Submissions must include the following information:

• Name

• Contact information

• CV

• Abstract of approximately 500 words
